Tuna Steaks on the Q

Tuna Steaks on the Q

Tonight we gonna do some Tuna Steaks I came up with the recipe below, on our Weber Q 100.
This recipe I found for grilling Tuna Steaks.  Modified to our liking.
olive oil 1 to 1/2 tbs
Sea salt
fresh ground pepper
juice of 1 lime
2 tuna steaks 1 inch thick

  1. Olive Oil and thawed Tuna steaks in a resealable bag, set in fridge for 1 hour
  2. Salt and pepper the tuna steaks
  3. Place steaks in hottest section and sear steaks  2  to 3 minutes per side to seal in the juices. Remove from grill let rest covered with foil for a couple minutes, slice across the grain to serve and enjoy.
  4. Should be rare to medium rare for full flavour and prevent from drying out.
  5. Serve with lime juice from one fresh squeezed lime.
this what I used today
thawed then marinate in olive oil
seasoned with sea salt and pepper
left one 2 minutes per side,
right one 3 minutes per side
3 minutes per side
2 minutes per side
I preferred the 2 minutes per side, rare, very tender, melt in you mouth. 3 minutes per side for Suzie not quite as tender but still very good.

  1. I like tuna, but never had a tuna steak. I guess I'll need to try one.

    1. They are excellent, just be careful not to overcook them.

  2. Came to your blog from Contessa's blog to see what recipe you use - looks so good as does your salad. Have you ever used the Blackened Spices for tuna - my niece does - very good and she, too, says not to overcook.

    1. Thanks for checking me out. I have never used blackened Spices, mainly because my wife does not like anything spicy or peppery.
      Yes do not overcook.

It always nice to hear from you, we love comments.
