Roasted Ranch Chick pea Poppers

We had a can of chick peas here in the cupboard that I wanted to use up and do something different. So came across this recipe and it worked really well. Cut back on the salt but probably would have tasted a bit better with more salt. But being an a salt restricted diet was not too bad at all. I found them nice crunchy and tasty, think better than potato chips or peanuts for a snack or on our salad.
Easy to do, at least you know whats in them with no added ingredients.
ready for the oven
so very tasty and healthy snack

  Here's what you do:

Drain a can of Chick peas, rinse and let them dry.
Mix olive oil and spices together in a bowl large enough for the chickpeas.

  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 tsp spoon garlic powder
  • 1 tsp spoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2teaspoon dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Add the chickpeas, and stir well to evenly coat.
Preheat oven to 400f and spread the coated chick peas on a foil lined cookie sheet spray with oil. Roast about 15-20 minutes and stir them up. Another 15-20 minutes and stir again, if crispy enough remove from the oven, if not a another 5-10 minutes careful not to burn them now.
Now you have a tasty nutritional snack or add to a salad, yummy!
